主講人簡介： 

Suresh L M：Maize Pathologist – Sub-Saharan Africa & MLN Screening Facility Manager, CIMMYT

       Dr. Suresh L M is an experienced maize plant pathologist with the Global Maize Program at CIMMYT, bringing over two decades of rich experience in plant pathology, with a strong focus on disease-resistant hybrid development, disease surveillance and plant health innovation. Based in Nairobi, he leads efforts to combat Maize Lethal Necrosis (MLN) across Sub-Saharan Africa. His major achievements include the contribution to the release of over 22 MLN-tolerant hybrids, gene editing project, the screening of more than 375,000 germplasm lines, and the training of over 5,000 professionals in plant disease diagnostics and seed health.

He previously worked in private seed companies at Monsanto and Seminis, earning global recognition such as the Monsanto Global Technology Award. He is a Fellow of the Indian Virological Society and the Indian Phyto pathological Society, with several scientific publications, technical manuals, and book chapters to his credit. Dr. Suresh is also a dedicated mentor, having guided several graduate students. His work bridges science, capacity building, and policy—contributing to global food security and inspiring the next generation of agricultural scientists.
